Travel bureau web page evaluation:
1. This assignment consisted of creating a travel bureau web site for a location outside of the United States. I chose the
destination of Australia for my travel bureau web site. Our goal was to create a travel bureau web site to convince others to want
to travel to the location as well as provide information to those interested in traveling to your selected destination. After selecting
my destination of Australia, I was required to complete the web site creation project plan. The project plan allowed me to gather
all of my information and research in one document and create a sketch of what I wanted my travel bureau web site to look like.
Our web sites were required to contain interesting pages filled with information that would make others consider traveling to our
selected destination. We were required to create and embed an animation, as well as encouraged to go beyond the basic
requirements.
2. The completion of this assignment depended on the use of several technology skills. For example, my travel bureau web site
required the use of Microsoft Office, Weebly Tools, and Animation creator websites. Weebly Tools allowed me to add titles,
paragraphs, columns, photos, and even videos to my web page. GoAnimate.com allowed me to create an animation for my web
page. In order to embed YouTube videos and animations I had to use my prior knowledge of html coding. My knowledge of
different technology skills allowed me to incorporate valuable information, images, and videos into my web site.
3. Creating this travel bureau web site allowed me to experiment with different tools that Weebly provides. I was able to create a
slide show of pictures, provide an image gallery, and embed videos onto my web page. I also learned how to create my own
animation. Creating my own animation using GoAnimate.com allowed me to provide information to my viewers in a unique and
interesting way. This project taught me different methods of getting the attention of my viewers.
4. I feel that I did an excellent job in convincing my peers that Australia is a great destination to travel to. I was able to provide my
peers with information about Australia including facts about the cities, wildlife, plants, landscapes, traveling advice, as well as fun
facts about the country. I was able to manage my time and go beyond the basic requirements. I incorporated a slideshow of
pictures of the Great Barrier Reef, an image gallery of the plants and wildlife as well as images of the hotel, and YouTube videos. I
felt my web page was well thought out, organized, easy to navigate, and very informative.
5. The next time I have a project that involves creating a web page similar to the travel bureau web page, I would do some things
differently. For example, I would try to incorporate more animations throughout my web site to keep the interest of my viewers. I
feel that multimedia, including YouTube videos and animations, are a great way of providing information to the viewers in an
interesting way.
